The Westland Wyvern was a British single-seat carrier-based aircraft that served in the Royal Navy from 1953 to 1957, known for being the first turboprop-powered aircraft to operate from an aircraft carrier and featuring a distinctive double-rotating propeller system. It saw limited combat use during the Suez Crisis in 1956 before being retired due to its complex design and maintenance requirements.
