The Vought OS2U Kingfisher was an American catapult-launched observation and scout seaplane used by the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving primarily for reconnaissance, spotting, and rescue missions from 1940 to 1945. Known for its reliability and versatility, the Kingfisher became one of the most widely used floatplanes of the war and was also operated by several Allied nations.
