The Type 3 Ka-Chi was a Japanese amphibious tank developed during World War II, entering service in 1943, and was notable for its innovative design featuring detachable pontoons that allowed it to traverse water obstacles during amphibious operations. Though produced in limited numbers, it represented one of Japan's most advanced attempts at amphibious warfare capability and saw action primarily in the Pacific Theater.
