The Pokpung-ho is a North Korean main battle tank developed in the 1990s based on the Soviet T-72 design, featuring enhanced armor and a locally-produced engine, and remains a primary armored vehicle in the Korean People's Army. Known for its modifications to the original Soviet platform, including a redesigned turret and upgraded fire control systems, the Pokpung-ho has been in service since the mid-1990s and represents North Korea's efforts to modernize its armored forces with domestically-manufactured components.
