The Sukhoi Su-2 was a Soviet light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft that first flew in 1937 and saw limited service during World War II, known for its relatively advanced design but ultimately overshadowed by other Soviet aircraft types. It served primarily with the Red Air Force from 1940-1943, performing reconnaissance and ground attack missions on the Eastern Front before being largely withdrawn from front-line service.
