The Junkers Ju-87 Stuka was a German dive bomber aircraft extensively used by the Luftwaffe during World War II, first entering service in 1937 and becoming infamous for its steep diving attacks and distinctive sirens that produced a terrifying wail during combat. The aircraft was particularly notable for its role in early German victories, especially during the invasion of Poland and France, though it became increasingly vulnerable to enemy fighter aircraft as the war progressed.
