The M5 Stuart was a light tank used by the United States during World War II, known for its speed and reliability despite relatively light armor and firepower compared to medium tanks. It saw extensive service from 1942 onwards in both the European and Pacific theaters, where it was valued for reconnaissance, infantry support, and mechanized cavalry operations.
