The M4A1 76W was an American medium tank used from 1944 onwards during World War II and beyond, featuring a more powerful 76mm gun than earlier Sherman variants to better counter heavily-armored German tanks like the Panther and Tiger. It became one of the most widely produced and recognizable tanks of WWII, serving in both European and Pacific theaters and known for its reliability, ease of production, and versatility despite being outgunned by some German counterparts.
