The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German half-tracked armored personnel carrier widely used by the Wehrmacht from 1939 onward, serving primarily for troop transport and as a platform for various specialized variants including anti-tank and reconnaissance roles throughout World War II. The D22 variant specifically featured enhanced armor protection and was produced in the later war years as an attempt to improve survivability against increasingly effective Allied anti-tank weapons.
