The Saint-Chamond was a French heavy tank first produced in 1916 during World War I, notable for being one of the first tanks to see combat and distinguished by its long-barreled 75mm gun mounted in a fully rotating turret. It served primarily on the Western Front until 1918 and is remembered as an important early development in armored warfare, though it suffered from mechanical reliability issues and was eventually superseded by more advanced designs.
