The Polikarpov R-Z was a Soviet reconnaissance aircraft used during the 1930s, developed as an improved variant of the R-1 design with enhanced speed and range for long-distance photographic missions. It served primarily with Soviet air forces in the mid-to-late 1930s and is remembered as one of the Soviet Union's early modern reconnaissance platforms during the interwar period.
