The Piper L-4 Grasshopper was a light observation and liaison aircraft used extensively by the United States Army during World War II, known for its exceptional maneuverability and ability to operate from makeshift airfields. This versatile monoplane became famous for its role in artillery spotting, medical evacuation, and reconnaissance missions across the European and Pacific theaters from 1942 onward.
