The Nakajima Ki-87 was a Japanese fighter-interceptor aircraft developed during World War II, designed as a high-altitude fighter to combat American B-29 Superfortress bombers in the Pacific theater. Though the aircraft reached the prototype stage in 1945, it saw no combat service before the war's end and remains historically significant as one of Japan's final fighter developments.
