The Mitsubishi Ki-51, codenamed "Sonia" by the Allies, was a Japanese light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft that entered service in 1940 and saw extensive use throughout the Pacific Theater during World War II, primarily employed for close air support and ground attack missions. It became one of the most widely produced Japanese aircraft of the war, known for its relatively robust construction and effectiveness in the tactical support role despite being vulnerable to modern fighter aircraft.
