The Macchi C.202 was an Italian fighter aircraft that entered service in 1941 and became one of the most capable and widely-used fighters of the Regia Aeronautica during World War II, known for its excellent maneuverability and performance at medium altitudes. It saw extensive combat in North Africa, the Mediterranean, and over Italy until the Italian surrender in 1943, and continued to be flown by Italian co-belligerents and the Luftwaffe afterward.
