The M5A1 was an American medium tank used primarily during World War II, featuring improved armor and firepower compared to earlier M4 Sherman variants and serving as a reliable workhorse for Allied forces from 1942 onward. The "(Roller)" designation refers to its roller-equipped mine-clearing attachment, which was used to detonate buried mines ahead of advancing armor and infantry.
