The M47 Patton was a medium tank used by the United States and allied forces from 1949 through the 1950s, serving as an intermediate design between the M46 and M48 Patton tanks and seeing combat during the Korean War. It was known for its improved 90mm gun, stronger armor protection, and better engine performance compared to its predecessors, establishing itself as a reliable workhorse of the early Cold War era.
