The Leopard I was a main battle tank developed by West Germany in the 1960s and widely used by NATO and allied nations throughout the Cold War, renowned for its speed, firepower, and influence on modern tank design. It served in numerous conflicts from the 1960s through the 1990s and remains one of the most successful and widely-exported tanks in history.
