The Lavochkin LaGG-3 was a Soviet fighter aircraft that entered service in 1941 and saw extensive use throughout World War II, known for its wooden construction, robust durability, and role as a primary interceptor on the Eastern Front. It became famous for its heavy armament and ability to withstand combat damage, though it was eventually superseded by the improved La-5 variant.
