The Kawasaki Ki-45 Toryu was a twin-engine fighter-interceptor aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II, serving from 1942 onwards and known for its speed, firepower, and effectiveness as a night fighter and anti-bomber platform. It became one of Japan's most capable fighter aircraft of the war, particularly renowned for its success in intercepting American B-29 Superfortress bombers during the later stages of the Pacific campaign.
