The Junkers Ju 52, produced from 1932 onwards, was a German transport and passenger aircraft renowned for its distinctive corrugated metal fuselage and reliability, serving extensively with the Luftwaffe during World War II for cargo, troop transport, and medical evacuation missions. Its robust design and ability to operate from unprepared airfields made it one of the most widely used transport aircraft of the era, earning it the nickname "Tante Ju" (Auntie Ju) among German aircrews.
