The IS-3 was a Soviet heavy tank introduced in 1945 during the final stages of World War II, featuring thick sloped armor and a 122mm gun that made it one of the most formidable tanks of its era. Though it saw limited combat in WWII, the IS-3 became a symbol of Soviet military power during the Cold War and saw service in various conflicts including the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and the Korean War.
