The Higgins boat (LCVP) was a shallow-draft landing craft designed by Andrew Higgins and mass-produced during World War II, serving as the primary vessel for amphibious assault operations from 1942 onward. General Dwight D. Eisenhower credited the Higgins boat as the craft that "won the war," as it proved essential for major Allied operations including the D-Day invasion, enabling troops to land directly on beaches under fire.
