The Hawker Typhoon Mk.IB was a British single-seat fighter-bomber used from 1942 onwards during World War II, primarily known for its exceptional low-altitude performance and effectiveness in ground-attack missions against German targets in occupied Europe. It became particularly renowned for its role in the Normandy campaign and subsequent operations, where its speed, armament of rockets and cannons, and rugged construction made it invaluable for close air support.
