8F-1 Bearcat Miniature The Grumman F8F Bearcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft that entered service with the United States Navy in 1945, arriving too late for significant combat in World War II but seeing extensive action during the Korean War. Known for its exceptional rate of climb, maneuverability, and compact design, the Bearcat was considered one of the finest piston-engine fighters ever built and served as a standard naval fighter through the early 1950s.
