The Fairey Barracuda was a British single-engine dive bomber and torpedo bomber used by the Royal Navy during World War II, serving from 1943 onwards and notably participating in the attack on the German battleship Tirpitz in 1944. It was known for its unusual elliptical wing design and distinctive inverted gull wing configuration, making it one of the most recognizable British naval aircraft of the war.
