The Fairey Albacore was a British torpedo bomber biplane that served in the Royal Navy from 1940 to 1943, succeeding the earlier Swordfish and seeing action primarily in the Mediterranean and North Atlantic during World War II. It is remembered as one of the last biplane torpedo bombers used in combat, known for its improved performance over its predecessor despite limited success compared to the legendary Swordfish.
