The Dornier Do-217K was a German twin-engine medium bomber and reconnaissance aircraft used by the Luftwaffe from 1941 onwards, notable for its increased speed and range compared to earlier variants and its capability to carry various ordnance loads including guided weapons. It saw extensive service throughout World War II in bombing campaigns over Britain and the Soviet Union, and is particularly remembered for its role in anti-shipping operations and as a platform for early guided bomb experiments.
