The Curtiss F8C-4 Helldiver was a carrier-based dive bomber used by the United States Marine Corps from the late 1920s through the early 1930s, serving as one of the first dedicated dive-bombing aircraft and pioneering tactics that would become standard in naval aviation. The aircraft is historically significant for demonstrating the effectiveness of steep-angle dive bombing and influencing the development of later dive bombers like the SBD Dauntless.
