The Centurion V was a British-designed medium tank adopted by the Australian Army in the 1950s and saw extensive service during the Korean War (1950-1953) and subsequent Cold War operations, becoming known for its exceptional firepower, armor protection, and reliability in combat. The tank remained in Australian service through the 1960s and became iconic for its performance against Soviet-equipped forces, particularly earning respect for its 20-pounder gun and ability to engage enemy armor effectively.
