The Centurion ARV (Armored Recovery Vehicle) was a British tank recovery and maintenance vehicle based on the Centurion tank chassis, used extensively from the 1950s through the 1970s and beyond, primarily by Commonwealth and NATO forces for battlefield recovery and repair operations. The ARV-7 variant, featuring distinctive side skirts for added protection, became the standard recovery vehicle for the British Army during the Cold War era and was known for its heavy lifting capacity and durability in demanding operational conditions.
