The Centaur IV was a British medium tank used primarily during World War II from 1943 onward, featuring a short-barreled 95mm howitzer main gun designed for close infantry support rather than anti-tank combat. It saw extensive service with the Royal Marine Commandos and other British forces, becoming particularly notable for its role in amphibious operations and its reliability in supporting ground troops during the final campaigns in Northwest Europe.
