The BMP-1 is a Soviet-designed infantry fighting vehicle that entered service in 1966 and became one of the most widely produced and exported armored personnel carriers of the Cold War era, known for its innovative design featuring a turret-mounted 73mm gun and amphibious capabilities. It saw extensive combat during the Soviet-Afghan War, the Iran-Iraq War, and numerous Middle Eastern conflicts, establishing itself as a iconic symbol of Soviet military technology throughout the late 20th century.
