The ATS-59 was a Soviet artillery tractor developed in the late 1950s, designed to tow heavy artillery pieces and serve as a prime mover for the Red Army's field gun units. Though arriving after World War II, it represented the continuation of Soviet mechanized artillery support doctrine and became a standard towing vehicle in Soviet forces throughout the Cold War era.
