The Archer was a British self-propelled anti-tank gun developed during World War II, featuring a 17-pounder gun mounted on a Valentine tank chassis and used primarily from 1943-1945. It is known for its powerful anti-tank capability and open-topped design, which made it effective against German armor despite limited crew protection and mobility compared to contemporary tank destroyers.
