The Aichi D3A1 Val was a Japanese naval dive bomber used extensively during World War II, serving as the Imperial Japanese Navy's primary carrier-based dive bomber from 1940 onward and notably participating in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. It was known for its accuracy in dive-bombing attacks and remained in service throughout the war despite becoming increasingly vulnerable to Allied fighter aircraft as the conflict progressed.
