The AD Scout, commonly known as the Sparrow, was a British single-seat biplane fighter aircraft developed during World War I, first seeing service in 1918 as a lightweight, maneuverable alternative to heavier contemporary fighters. The aircraft was notable for its exceptional climb rate and agility, though it arrived too late in the war to see extensive combat operations.
